Hawks Hope To Avoid Postponement
Havant & Waterlooville say they are doing everything in their power to ensure tomorrow's FA Cup 3rd round replay against the Swans goes ahead.
There has been heavy rain in the local area and their secretary Trevor Brock said:
|'We are doing everything in our power to make sure the match goes ahead.|
'Our problem is the £15,000 police costs have to be paid whatever happens. So it is important to us the match takes place.
'We have a good relationship with the police, but their stance is out of kilter with what has happened in similar situations elsewhere across the country.
'When Swansea played Horsham the police footed the bill for the game. It seems the police here just want to make as much money as possible from football.'
'Looking at the forecast, things look like they will improve.'
Swansea City have experienced poor conditions earlier in the competition when they faced Horsham in front of the Sky cameras.
Kick off was delayed to take the covers off the pitch, but despite of that the playing surface was still in a shocking condition. A match that most certainly would have been called had it not been screened live on Sky Sports.
Either team could potentially play Liverpool in the next round if the Reds beat Luton in their replay.
