Spaniard Guillem Bauza finally scored his first league goal in British football on the weekend against Luton Town, much to the delight of his team mates.
Bauza has been in fine goal scoring form in cup competitions with 3 goals in two FA Cup games . It was only a matter of time until the striker added that illustrious league goal to his tally.
The former Mallorca man has embraced the club and the city since his move from Spain and has even cited Harry Potter as one of the key tools to settling in Wales.
Along with fellow Spaniards Angel Rangel and Andrea Orlandi the player has been attending English classes to bridge the evidential language gap. A qualified teacher Bauza is firmly the spokesman of the trio now known simply as "The Three Amigos." Its however on the pitch that there is only one language that the Striker needs to know and that is Roberto Martinez's attack minded style of play.
He will be hoping to add to his goal tally against Havant and Waterlooville and on Saturday as Port Vale are the next visitors to the Liberty Stadium.
With goals under his belt and a new swagger the Spaniard feels he is improving all the time under the guidance of fellow Spaniard Roberto Martinez.
He Told The Western Mail
| "It wasn`t the most difficult goal ever scored," joked Bussy. "But I`m just so happy to get my first league goal" It`s a lovely feeling. I didn`t think about it much on the pitch, but I`m really happy now." It`s a big relief. I will keep it in my memory and I want to remember that goal forever." I knew it would come sometime. I`m just glad it has and now I hope a lot more goals will come." I`ve been feeling good in the last few games and I thought I was playing well. The goal didn`t come though." But if you keep working and doing things well, somebody gives you what you deserve." I want more goals now, lots of them. I will just do my best in every game and go from there." |
