Swansea City have been charged with Violent conduct and failure to conduct themselves in a resonable manner in the fractious 1-1 draw in the FA Cup 3rd round against Havant and Waterlooville last Saturday.
The case will be heard by the Football Association of Wales with charges been brought under FAW Ruling 24.2.12.
The association regulating Welsh football have reacted to an incident following Brett Poate's rash challenge on Andrea Orlandi.The midfielder was sent off by under fire referee Stuart Atwell but in the fracas that followed Alan Tate was also sent off for Violent Conduct.
Swansea Manager Roberto Martinez after the game criticised the officials for not controlling the game and midfeilder Leon Britton was quoted as saying that the officials did not protect them ;From the barrage of what has been perceived as series of rash challenges to Swansea players by their non leauge counterparts.
The Blue Sqaure South side have been charged by the FA (Football Association) for their part in the incident.
The FAW have released a statement regarding the charges brought against Swansea City on their website.
It read:
| Charges have been issued against Swansea City and Havant & Waterlooville in relation to an incident during their FA Cup Third Round match at the Liberty Stadium on 5th January 2008. Swansea City has been charged by the Football Association of Wales with the Disciplinary Offence of the alleged failure of its players to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion or fail to refrain from violence, threatening or provocative behaviour, conduct or language. The Football Association has charged Havant & Waterlooville for the conduct of their players for failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from provocative behaviour.
