Anderson Relishing Reds Clash

Liverpool loanee Paul Anderson has been gifted an opportunity to impress his home club as Swansea City look to overhaul Havant and Waterlooville in the 3rd round FA Cup replay on Wednesday.

The South Wales club were left in jubilant mood following the draw after being handed a glamour tie against former European champions Liverpool. The Midfielder insisted that the Reds were the only club he wanted to play against. He was not to be disappointed with a possible tie against Liverpool should the premiership outfit get past a Luton Town side fighting for their very existence.

Roberto Martinez was left reaching for the pacy wingers loan agreement following the draw. Despite the initial concerns that Rafa Benitez would not allow the player to play .His Spanish counterpart Martinez is confident of been able to play Anderson in the possible tie against the Anfeild club.

Pivotal to Swansea's surge to the top of league one he has been one of the signings of the summer following his excellent work rate and ability to turn defenders at will. Added to his potent threat the former Hull City player has bolstered the side with 8 goals so far this term and who would bet against the player adding to that tally by the end of the season.

It is that form that has seen calls from the Liberty Stadium faithful to sign the player outright from the premiership club.

The youngster is relishing the possible tie and is keen to prove his worth to both Swansea and Liverpool and to be able to play in frount of a packed Andfeild.

He Told The Western Mail

'"I`m desperate to play at Anfield," he said. "I just hope there isn`t anything standing in the way of me playing."

I`ve never played for the first team there, only in youth cup games. So I`ve played in front of the Kop before, but never in front of so many fans."It will be really nice if I can go out and show both the Liverpool and Swansea fans what I can do."When you are a young lad at a club like Liverpool, it`s easy for people to know nothing about you. But, if I can show the fans that I`m half decent, then perhaps they will start to wonder why I`m not there."It might give them a different opinion of me if they can see that I`m a good player."

If Swansea were to secure a 4th round place against the former European Champions the club could receive up to £250,000 for their troubles.
