Gale: Orlandi Made A Meal Of It

As strange as it seems, Havant & Waterlooville manager Shaun Gale thought Orlandi made a 'meal of it' when Poate made a two-footed lunge on the Spaniard.

The Spaniard was left reeling in actual pain (Shaun!) with a tackle that deserved nothing less than a red card and hopefully an extended suspension.

Despite the appauling challenge, Gale thought Poate 'possibly deserved to go'.

Following the tackle and sending off, there wa a mass brawl in the middle of the pitch with all 22 players getting involved.

Alan Tate was shown red for his involvement in the proceedings while no Havant player was even cautioned. Duffy was floored and ended up with a Havant player's finger in his eye, yes he got away with it.

Of course I'm not defending our players and putting all the blame on the opposition. Both teams got involved of course and were as bad as each other. The referee however failed to deal with the situation.

Despite Gale's claims, I can't see any 'punches' being thrown by either side. Pushes yes, punches no.

Shaun Gale told portsmouth.co.uk:

'Brett possibly deserved to go,'

'He went in with raised studs, but he's not a nasty lad.

'He went to win the ball and their lad made a meal of it I thought. What happened after that concerned me.

'I thought the referee was weak because he sent one of their lads off when, for me, two of their lads should have gone.

'They ran 20 or 30 yards to physically punch people and they should know better than that. They're professional footballers. Their actions were pretty appalling.'

The FA Cup 4th round draw will be shown live on BBC2 and 1:30pm.

I agree with MJ and Jack 69, I really think thats why Havent and Waterlooville will always be part timers, because its all about attitude and theirs is ALL WRONG!

This is the most appalling set of comments made by a manager that I have ever seen!!!! Sums up Havant & Waterlooville's amateur status in one sentence!! I too agree with Murton_Jack and Jack69.
