Roberto Martinez was left fuming over the substandard refereeing decisions made by 25 year old official Stuart Atwell in Swansea City's 1-1 draw over Havant and Waterlooville.
The Hampshire side forced a replay at their Westleigh Park ground after Rocky Baptiste fired in a 87th minute equaliser .Swansea took the lead on 74 minutes when Andy Robinson fired in a trade mark free kick past the stranded Hawks keeper Kevin Scriven.
In a string of chances the home side failed to push home their advantage as Leon Britton , Jason Scotland and Darren Pratley all saw efforts ricochet off the bar .
The game was further marred by a melle following Brett Poate's two footed lunge on Spaniard Andrea Orlandi. It was to be that incident that was to bring the game into disrepute as Alan Tate was sent off for violent conduct.
Martinez could hardly contain his anger over the performanc of Stuart Atwell and his officials. No stranger to controversy Atwell had officiated Swansea City's league one clash vs Gilligham.
The Spaniard was left questioning the inexperienced referee on that occasion.
He Told The Evening Post
|''What will be in my referee's report? Well it will be a long one,'' he said. ''Maybe the best report I could give is to send a copy of the match video from this weekend and one from the game against Gillingham, because images speak louder than words."|
'Havant & Waterlooville are a non-league side playing in the third round of the FA Cup and their gameplan was to rough us up, but the referee just treated it like any League One game.
'We have been unfortunate with him before when we played Gillingham and I thought he was very, very poor again.
'I'm not talking about bad decisions here, I'm talking about being in control of the players on a football pitch.
'When a non-league side plays a league side the referee needs to stamp his authority, but he failed to do that.''
'Whoever is in charge of the replay will have a huge job on his hands and hopefully the physical stuff we saw this weekend will be stopped.
'He has to have control of the players so that situations cannot snowball like they did on Saturday. I saw some of the worst tackles I've seen in years all in one game and you could see that was going to develop into the red-card incident at the end.''
'I've watched the tape and Alan Tate pushed a couple of players, but if he wants to send him off for that the referee should send three or four others off as well."
