Craney: No Grudges With Swansea

Ian Craney says he only has good things to say about Swansea following his move back to Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder says he holds no grudges over the club after failing to make the grade here at the Liberty Stadium.

Kenny Jackett signed Ian in January 2007 and despite playing regularly last season, he has failed to impress and keep a first team place under Roberto Martinez.

Craney then joined his former club on a 3-month loan, before Stanley paid a record £85,000 fee to sign him permanently.

Following his move, Craney told the Evening Post:

'I've not got a bad word to say about SwanseaCity, whether it's the players, the staff, the club or the fans,'

'I've got no grudges against anyone and, although I don't think Swansea ever saw the best of me, I've got no regrets about joining the club.

'I had a six-month spell where I was playing every week and I loved every minute of it.

'The only disappointment was that I didn't manage to score for the club, because I'm at my best when I'm getting into the box and getting goals.

'But I made a lot of good friends at Swansea and I will always look out for their results.

'They're a club going in the right direction and I think they've got a great chance of getting promotion this season.

'In fact, when I look at their squad, I don't see any reason why they can't push on and win the title.'

Martinez explained his decision to sell Craney, as he couldn't guarantee the player first team football this year.

Craney failed to impress the fans during his stay here and it was definitely the best move for all concerned.

With Keigan Parker set to join Barnsley, Martinez will have to look elsewhere for a striker as he awaits for news on Warren Feeney. Although a fee has already been agreed with Cardiff, he is yet to agree personal terms.

Wish him well. Noticed he got one of the three goals yesterday against Chester.
