Swans Not To Appeal Bodde Card

Swans Not To Appeal Bodde Card

Swansea will not appeal against red card shown to Ferrie Bodde following his rash challenge on Leeds United midfielder Johnathan Howson.

Referee Andre Marriner adjudged the tackle severe enough to warrant a straight Red despite protestations by his team mates aghast with the referees decision. Some parties have leveled criticism on Leeds for intimidating the premiership referee into dismissing the Dutchman.

Manager Roberto Martinez after considering every avaidable option has decided against appealing the decision.

He Spoke on the Official Site

''We did want to appeal because we felt we had grounds and good reason.'

But after considering all the options, we felt we just had too much to lose if the appeal went against us.''

Bodde will now face a five match ban which will see him miss two cup games against Brigton and Hove Albion and Havant and Waterlooville . He will also miss the trip to Kenilworth Stadium on the 12th and the visit of Port Vale on the 16th. .

Too much to lose after what happened to Coyne from Luton, given an extra game ban because they appealed.
