Better News For Injured Feeney

On loan Cardiff City striker Warren Feeney has received good news on his ankle ligament injury, as he'll only be sidelined for around 7 weeks.

It was first thought that he'd be out for 3 or 4 months, but Martinez told BBC Sport:

'It was such a bad challenge, we feared it was a worse injury.

'Hopefully he will be back in about six or seven weeks which is not as long as we expected in the beginning.'

The Northern Ireland international returns to Ninian Park during his recovery, but could well return to the Swans in a permenant deal.

Martinez insists he wants to sign him, and a fee was pre-agreed when he first joined us on loan.

'Warren is our player until 1 January and we have always expressed we would like to keep him for a longer term,'

'Hopefully everything will progress and we will see where we are.'

The Swans face second placed Carlisle on Saturday and Guillem Bauza, Darryl Duffy and Jason Scotland all fight for a first team place up at Brunton Park.
