Pratley Bemoans Slow Start

In 23 first half minutes Swansea were left Shell shocked as Ryman Premier Division outfit Horsham looked set to overhaul league position and go into the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

The home side were caught napping as the Hornets took the lead not once by twice in the space of 3 minutes.Lee Farrell took full advantage of a lapse in concentration in the heart of the Swansea defense to chip Dorus De Vries from range.

Man of the Match Darren Prately leveled just 90 seconds later with a low drive that had Paul Seuke in the Hornets goal well beaten.

Lee Farrell was in dreamland just 2 minutes later as a extraordinary mistake from Dorus De Vries hand the striker an goal scoring opportunity.

De Vries in error tried to pass the ball out of defense but the Ball fell straight into the path of Farrell who slotted home to make it 2-1.

Midfielder Darren Prately was left in no doubt that the Queens Street side had caught Swansea cold.

His manager Roberto Martinez was left disappointed at the break , something the midfielder was all but willing to admit.

He Told:
Western Mail

'The first 15 minutes was a wake-up call for us.'

They went 1-0 up and we got back into it. But when they scored again we looked at ourselves and thought 'this isn`t good enough.'

It`s not that we weren`t up for it. But when you are expected to win and against a lower team, it`s harder to get into the game.'

And it wasn`t that we were over-confident either. But we were expected to win comfortably and unless we won by two or three goals, it looked like a bad day for us..when they take a second lead you do start to think it`s going to be a long day.

They were poor goals to concede and at half-time the gaffer was still disappointed, even though we were two goals up.'

Pratley is expected to Start against Southend United on Saturday.

hopefully they won't make such a poor start against havant and waterloo. they can't be too complacent as these non league sides are always right up for these huge games for them.
