'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Maggs Heaps Praise On His Hornets

Horsham crashed out of the FA Cup after losing 6-2 to leuage one leaders Swansea City last night. The non leauge side have over the course of the two ties have given a good account of themselves.

Hornets manager John Maggs had issued a warning to their league opponents prior to the game stating 'Underestimate us at your peril'.

If Swansea listened to his comments it certainly did show as Horsham took shock 2-1 lead with 23 minutes on the clock following a brace by Lee Farrell.

Maggs also conceded that his players struggled to cope with the pace of the Swansea players as the league side cut open the Horsham defense at will.

350 Hornets fans made the journey from Sussex to support The Ryman Premier Division side.Chairman Frank King personally thanked many of the away supporters and has praised the clubs players for their efforts.King also thinks that the experience over the two games will become invaluable over the course of the season.

John Maggs Told :
West Sussex County Times

'First half we started really well, we played as much good football as they did - to go 2-1 was a dream and we deserved it.'

All credit to Swansea, they are fast across the pitch and in the second half it was a job to keep hold of them.'

I said the players will run until they drop and they have done that.'

I am so proud of the boys, Horsham FC and the town should be proud of them. We havne;t let ourselves down.'

Horsham will now turn their attentions to the league as they face Folkestone Invicta on Saturday.
