Rovers Game To Be Played In February

Swansea City will now play their fixture with Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 26th February 2008at 7.45pm.

The game was the second fixture within a week to be cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch at The Memorial Stadium.

Rovers local derby with Cheltenham Town was called off on Wednesday.

Despite 50+ Rovers supporters answering a call for help from the Memorial Stadium outfit they could not prevent the postponement of the fixture.

The lateness of the decision by referee Uriah Rennie and his officials has severely angered Swansea City supporters.

So much so Swansea City have released a statement regarding the behavior by some of the disgruntled fans who were forced to turn back from Bristol.<

The Club Statement Read :

"However, the club is extremely disappointed with the level of abuse that was directed towards the Liberty Stadium ticket office staff on Saturday."

While the abuse, which has continued today, has come from the usual 'small minority' of supporters, the club will not tolerate this level of behaviour."

Supporters who hold tickets for the Rovers game can claim a full refund.
