Rovers Pitch Concerns Martinez
The State of Bristol Rovers pitch is causing a little concern in the Swansea camp ahead of the league one clash at the Memorial Stadium.
The game could be the second casualty in quick succession for the Bristol club after the match against leauge's struggler's Cheltenham was called off on Tuesday due to the poor condition of The Memorial Stadium's playing surface.
Martinez was left in no doubt that the conditions are not conducive to the free flowing expansive attacking game that has seen Swansea reach the dizzy heights on top of the league one summit.
Despite these concerns the Spanish tactician insists the team have more than enough experience to cope with the choppy conditions.
He told :
The Evening Post
|'I am a bit concerned about the weather conditions.'|
We will have to wait to hear what the referee says. The pitch will cut up I am sure but we need to adapt to it and be effective.'
We need to understand areas where you can play football. It will be difficult but we are Swansea City and we will play the way we want to.'
The condition of the pitch could mean that we get caught and allow Bristol Rovers to get on top of us, but we are working hard to make sure that does not happen.'
We need to be ready for the challenge. We adapted well at Yeovil and most recently at Horsham, so we know what to expect and how to apply ourselves.'
There will be no pay on the day at the Stadium tomorrow as the Police have deemed the game a 'bubble' match.
