Martinez Unmoved By Horsham

Horsham of the Ryman Premier league were the talk of the 2nd round of the FA Cup as the Sussex club forced a replay with Swansea City at The Liberty Stadium.

Hornets manager John Maggs was left understandably delighted with his teams performance after Lewis Taylor scored an 85th minute penalty to extend their FA Cup run to 7 consecutive games.

The non league outfit have warmed up for the replay with a 2-0 win over Wick in thee 3rd round of the Sussex Senior Cup.

The Hornets league match against AFC Wimbledon has been postponed due to poor pitch conditions of at Queens Road that left the club having the play their Sussex cup match at Wick.

Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez has been left unmoved by the non league sides break as Swansea face a tricky fixture against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground on Saturday.

He told :
The Evening Post

'We didn't want the replay and we're disappointed to have it because we felt we did enough at Horsham to win the game.'

But now we have it we will get on with it and I accept that we are favourites this time.'

I make the non-league side favourites when a league side goes into their environment, but I accept that we have to dictate the game at the Liberty Stadium.'

It's understandable that Horsham have called their league game off - this is perhaps the biggest match in their history and they want to focus all their efforts on it.

It's going to be difficult for us because it's another no-win situation, but we have to view it as a great opportunity to get to the third round.''

The replay will be broadcast live on Sky Sports after the broadcaster pulled the plug on non league Chasetown. Sky were due to show Chasetown's 2nd round replay with Port Vale however the floodlights at Chasetown's Scolars Ground were deemed not up to grade.

Tickets are on sale for the match with adult tickets £12 , Concessions £7 and 4 free children's tickets with every adult ticket purchased.
