Tate Eyes A Glamour Draw

Alan Tate and the rest of Roberto Martinez's squad were left disappointed with the 3rd round draw of the FA Cup.

Blue Square South side Havanat and Waterlooville will await Swansea in the 3rd round if they can over come Horsham in the 2nd round replay at The Liberty Stadium on the 11th December.

The Hawks secured their historic draw after causing a shock 1-0 win over Notts County at Meadow Lane .

In an extraordinary run of the draw Swansea City have been drawn against 3 non league sides in quick succession.

Billericay Town of the Ryaman Premier Division failed to clip Swansea's feathers in the first round as the league side went thought to the 2nd round courtesy of a double strike from Spanish striker Guillem Bauza.

Horsham then pulled off a cup upset forcing a replay after under fire referee Kevin Friend awarded the Ryaman Premier Division side a penalty after Alan Tate's challenge on Lee Farrell.

Lewis Taylor subsequently put the spot kick past Dutchman Dorus De Vries to earn the Sussex club a dream replay at The Liberty Stadium .

Defender Alan Tate was left disappointed at the draw but insists the club were due a Home tie in the FA Cup.

Tate has been made comparable for a lapse in judgement following the penalty decision by many sections of Swansea supporters. The former Manchester player has expressed his thoughts regarding the penalty decision and has defended his actions that led Horsham's equalising goal.

Tate spoke to
The Evening Post

'It's not the glamour tie we wanted - everyone down here has been hoping for one of the really big sides for a while. It's frustrating because we've had two decent cup runs while I've been here but never got one. But we'll just have to try to get our name in the hat for the fourth-round draw and see if we can get a plum tie then.'

No disrespect to Horsham or Havant & Waterlooville, but they are teams we should be beating at the Liberty.'

Maybe I shouldn't have put myself in that position, but the ref said I pulled the lad and I definitely didn't.'

It's frustrating because we should have been well clear by then.'

The club have yet to release ticket infomation regarding the replay against Horsham .
