Coleman Wants To Resign Craney

Ian Craney's time at Swansea City this season had been fraught with problems until he resigned on loan to former club Accrington Stanley.

The midfielder was pushed further down the pecking order at the club due to the signings of Paul Anderson and Ferrie Bodde. It has been that level of competition that had restricted the midfielder to only 2 league cup appearances for Swansea so far this season.

In contrast his second spell at Fraser Eagle Stadium has been successful and has vastly impressed his former employers.

The former Altrincham player has featured in 7 games so far this season and has scored two goals.

His impressive performances for Stanley have not gone unnoticed by rival clubs.

In a shock move Roberto Martinez recalled the midfielder from Stanley with a view to a securing a deal for the midfielder with Peterborough United who had shown interest in securing Craney's services.

The deal broke down as personal terms could not be agreed.

This has not deterred Stanley manager John Coleman , the tactician has reiterated his desire to resign the midfielder.

Coleman spoke on
Team Talk.com:

'I'd like to sign him on a permanent basis and have made no secret of that fact.'

He enjoys it here and has done very well for us, so hopefully something can be sorted.''

Craney is likely to feature against Rochdale on Wednesday evening.

So do you think he is any good?
StevieG Col U
I thought he was good when he first came here but then he died off a bit and now we have better players than last year so he will only play in the cup. Its a shame really cus he could have been a good hit with us but it didn't work out.
