Monk Looking To Improve Home Form

After grinding out another away win at Tranmere last Saturday, captain Garry Monk says their next task is to address their poor home form.

Roberto Martinez's side can go joint top with Leyton Orient on Tuesday night as they play their rescheduled game with Hartlepool at the Liberty Stadium.

3 points would put us top, ahead of current leaders Leyton Orient on goal difference.

Our home form has been a major concern this season however, as it compares with those teams competing in the relegation zone.

Us fans haven't witnessed a home win in the league since the beginning of October, when we beat Swindon 2-1.

After Saturday's important 1-0 win away at Tranmere, Garry Monk along with the rest of the squad move their attentions to Tuesday night. The club captain told the Evening Post:

'We have got a winning mentality in this squad and after a negative result we want to bounce back. We have and we are delighted with the three points.

'Now we have to address the home form tomorrow night. We are improving all the time. There will be setbacks, that's football, but we know we are getting better and better and I hope this victory goes a little way towards repaying the fans for the home defeat to Huddersfield.'

Monk would obviously have been happy to be a part of the defence that kept another clean sheet last weekend, our fifth in all competitions.

Painter returned to left back to replace Kevin Austin and De Vries made a superb save in the last few minutes to deny Sherriff from heading home a late equaliser.
