Feeney Wary Of Horsham Threat

Loan striker Warren Feeney fresh from international exploits with Northern Ireland can be excused for wondering what competition he is playing in.

The Belfast born striker has been in form over the last month despite being handed a 3 match ban for his two footed challenge on Gillingham defender Simon King.

Feeney has secured the much needed match practice in the interim on international duty with Northern Ireland.

The striker has been on goal scoring from for his country with the European Championship 2008 Qualification game against Denmark at Windsor Park.

A fine headed goal from the striker saw Nigel Worthington's side equalise after Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner put the Denmark 1-0 up after poor defending by the Irish defence.

Feeney returned to league matters yesterday when manager Roberto Martinez started the striker in yesterday's 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

However the player could not add to his goal tally and was replaced by Guillem Bauza in the second half.

With a 2nd round FA Cup tie against Ryman Premier Division side Horsham FC on Friday evening Feeney has signalled a warning not to underestimate Horsham 118 places below Swansea in the football pyramid.

He spoke toThe Western Mail

'It`s going to be strange going from playing against Spain to facing Horsham.'

But you can`t treat games any differently because you`ve got to beat whoever is in front of you.'

This will be huge for them and they`ll be full of confidence and thinking they can cause a shock because of the way we struggled at Billericary in the last round.'

The FA Cup is special and I`m really looking forward to getting going again with Swansea."

The former Luton man has vastly impressed since his loan move from arch rivals Cardiff City scoring 4 goals for the club including a brace against his former club Bournemouth.

The Striker is set to figure in the rearranged fixture with Hartlepool United on Tuesday evening.

Sky Sports will be broadcasting live Swansea's FA Cup 2nd round clash vs Horsham at the Atspeed Stadium on Friday.
