Jackett Is New Millwall Manager!

Former Swansea City boss Kenny Jackett has taken over as manager of tonight's opponents Millwall.

The 45 year-old was given permission by Man City for the Lions to talk to Jackett, and he will take charge of first team affairs following tonight's game at the New Den.

"Quality. good luck Kenny - you're gonna need it fella."

Millwall had previously failed in their attempts to bring Yeovil manager Russell Slade in to fill in the vacant roll.

There are mixed views amongst Swansea City fans on our previous boss, who brought us League Two promotion, a League One play-off final, 2 FAW Premier Cups and a Football League Trophy.

He was sacked in February this year after a long run of poor results, where we slumped to being out of the running for a second successive play-off place.

He angered many fans because of his over expenditure of players, paying ridiculous tranfer fees for players who failed to make an impact here.

I think he's a decent short term answer to their current problems at the bottom of League One, but I doubt he'll bring long-term success at the New Den. He couldn't keep the momentum going here and resorted to taking desperate measures to gain success.

Jackett will return to the Liberty Stadium as opposition boss on Saturday March 8th.

Vital Swansea would like to hear your views on Millwall's appointment. Have they made the right decision and will he bring success to the Lions?

The Swans fans will give Kenny Jackett a warm welcome when he visits us next March. We have always done this with ex-players and managers.
