Painter Out For 2-3 Weeks

Full back Marcos Painter will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks after picking up a foot injury during Friday's 1-1 draw at home to Gillingham.

The left back left the field midway during the first half of the match and was replaced by Kevin Austin, who is likely to fill in that spot while he recovers.

The Swans are rather weak in numbers in that position. Austin is better suited as a centre back though the versatile Andrea Orlandi can play in any position down the left side.

Also out injured are Ferrie Bodde (hip), Owain Tudur-Jones (ankle) and Darren Way (hamstring).

That's a bad news. Austin is definitely not suitable to play full 90 mins and Orlandi is yet unproven as a LB.

Orlandi shows no defensive qualities in the few games I've seen him play. He doesn't look comfortable going in for a challenge and he definitely wouldn't be my choice for left back, unless it was 3-5-2 and we used wing backs, but that's not going to happen.

i say give him the chance at least. i feel he can be a great player if given the chance...just like bussy..what ive seen of both of them is good so far. they just arnt getting thier chance...hopefully that will change next week when we play billy and yeovil

Pity Painter has another injury. Rangel moves to LB. Tate or Amankwaah at RB. Although Austin replaced Painter against Gillingham, he does not have the speed to get back quickly.

Austin and lawrence side by side!? oh dear!
GThomas
as i have said on a previous forum id rather have rangel move over to the left as he can offer us attacks and then have tate or amankwah rb

Amankwaah isn't even near making the bench for us, he's hardly going to start at right back tonight.
