Swans Handed Double Injury Blow

Roberto Martinez has received a double injury blow ahead of the League one game tomorrow night against Gillingham.

Dutchman Ferrie Bodde is out of the game after a hip muscle problem was diagnosed after a training session.

Owain Tudur Jones injury misfortune continues after he sustained damaged to his ankle ligaments in the 3-1 win over Yeovil town in the Reserves yesterday.

Bodde will sit out the game tomorrow if he does not pass a late fitness test.

Tudur Jones's recovery is slightly longer with the Welsh midfielder unlikely to feature within the next 2 weeks.

Martinez has expressed his disappointment at the latest injury news.

He Spoke on the Official Site:

'Owain played really well in the game but picked up the injury in a challenge.'

It's very unfortunate after what Owain's been through, but he should only be out for a couple of weeks.'

""Ferrie has picked up a soft tissue injury around the hip area and we'll have to assess him over the next 24 hours"

It will be disappointing if he misses out because he is really enjoying his football at the moment.

Everyone knows what a quality footballer he is and technically he is one of the best around.

I know he's desperate to be fit and available so we'll just have to wait and see."

This comes a huge blow to the u-21 midfielder as he continues to get back into the first team after a lengthy injury lay-off.

Bad news this but with the current depth of the squad I'm not afraid that any possible replacement for Bodde would affect our game.

Did he get his injury from his "sliding" celebration after scoring his goal against Yeovil ?
willow
LOL he shouldnt be out long which is good. we have enough players to come in.
GThomas
Considering that a few weeks ago we had 4 first team players out injured and we went on to go top and stay there really it shouldn't matter that Bodde is injured.
jack hammers
Indeed with our strength we should be able to cope with bodde out

the thing is with bodde's injury. he is an absolute quality player. and even though we have got other players to play there. bodde shoes cannot be filled.
