Swansea Trial Swedish Defender

Swansea City are set to hand a trial to centre back Stefan Alander.

The 24 year-old currently plays for GIF Sundsvalls in the Swedish Premier League.

He has also played 11 games at under-21 international level.

With his contract set to expire soon, Swansea could sign him on a free if they choose to.

Stefan Alander says he is excited about the trial and said:

"It is no secret that I want to try something else before it's to late, and now I have the chance to see and experiance something different",

"It is going to be very interesting."

"As far as I know, the team is in second place in League One, and has an

mbition to get promotion to the Championship",

"It feels exiting, but my expectations aren't that high. It's just to do

y best, and then I'll see what happens."

"As I've said earlier, GIF is still a good option. The club has omething

oing, and I think we are a good team with potential."

Recently Marinez said he had pencilled in OTJ as a possible future centerback. Having invited this lad for a trial shows that he has not yet closed the door on getting someone in.
