'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Strength And Depth Vital

Swansea City's unbeaten run of form continued on the weekend with a 2-1 win over Yeovil Town at Huish Park. A fact that has not gone unnoticed by Manager Roberto Martinez.

The tactician heaped praise on his players in his post match comments following the win.

The Swans secured their first win against Yeovil at Huish Park thanks to goals from Jason Scotland and Dutchman Ferrie Bodde.

Martinez over the last few weeks has seen his side notch up 5 wins on the bounce stretching back to the Home win against Swindon Town on October 2nd.

As the Squad prepare to face Gillingham on friday night the Spaniard has a huge selection headache to overcome.

Injury returnees include Defender Alan Tate who has recovered from a knee fracture. Andy Robinson , Leon Britton and Darryl Duffy all had 2nd half substitute apperances against Yeovil on the weekend.

Martinez toldThe Evening Post:

''It's not just the bench but the players we left behind.'

Having that strength in depth is vital because in football you cannot be allowed to feel that you're certain to play week-in, week-out. That does not bring the best out of you.'

When we have players like Leon Britton, Andy Robinson, Alan Tate, Darryl Duffy, Joe Allen, Owain Tudur Jones and Kris O'Leary outside the starting XI, it shows you what great strength we have.'

It's a fantastic situation to be in and I wouldn't swap my squad for any other in League One.

In fact, I wouldn't swap it with many sides in the Championship either.'

In recent seasons the club have been blighted with injury's which have left key positions thread bare. This season is in marked contrast with the depth of talent the club has got on its books can rival any team in leauge one.

Vital Swansea have teamed up with Codemasters to give away 3 copies of Colin McRae's DiRT game in our new competition.

The game is available for PS3, XBOX360 and PC and the winners have a choice of which format they'd like their game in.

To be in with a chance of winning, simply guess the attendance of Friday night's home game against Gillingham.
