'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Commando's Drop In On The Liberty

Abseiling and football are a strange mix , but one that will be seen just before kick off at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow.

The Royal Marines Commando Display Team will abseil onto the pitch and also treat fans to an unarmed combat display at half time.

The action will start at 2.40pm just before the 3.00pm kick off.

Its not the first time Swansea City fans have been treated to a pre match display from the Armed services. In last seasons away clash against Carlisle United at Brunton Park a RAF helicopter delivered the match ball.

Sergeant Hunter of the display team
Spoke on the official website:

"It's a real honour for me to be involved in this important home match, particularly when I'm such a big Swans fan myself.

Being here also gives me the opportunity to showcase my other great passion in life, that of being a Royal Marine Commando.

I just hope that we will bring the team good luck and we win the game.'.'

Lets hope the action on the pitch is just as entertaining as the action off it.
