Swansea City Agree Feeney Fee

Swansea City have agreed a fee with Cardiff to allow Warren Feeney to join the club on a permanent basis.

by sbrjack
'As a Squad player he would come in very handy.'
The decision is now down to Roberto Martinez and the player himself on whether they want the move to go ahead.

Chairman Huw Jenkins revealed that they were discussing a fee prior to Feeney's arrival on loan:

'We talked through a permanent move with Cardiff before we signed Warren,'

'We have got an agreement with Cardiff to take things forward if we want to. A fee is agreed and that option is there for us.'

'It's going to be down to Warren and Roberto to decide what happens,'

'These things are never easy, but we have done all we can do on it for now and it's a case of waiting and seeing where we are at the end of December.

'Roberto and Warren will have to sit down and talk things through then.

Feeney has impressed since he joined a month ago and has scored 4 goals in 3 League starts.

He scored a brace in Sunday's game at Bournemouth to seal a 4-1 win at Dean Court.

Cardiff City paid Luton £75,000 for his services in March this year so the fee is likely to be around that figure.

Do you think we should sign Warren Feeney on a permanent transfer?

35k and you got a deal!

I reckon it would probably be about 60k. Cardiff will want as much of their 75k back as they can.

No mad panic to make the move permanent. We have him on loan until 1 Jan. - so there are more games to assess him. 4 goals in 3 starts is very good form, so if this continues, he will no doubt be offered a contract.
