De Vries Wins Player Of The Month

Swansea City goalkeeper Dorus De Vries won the September Player of the Month vote with 53%.

'Good job Willy still aint between the sticks or we'd be in the relegation zone'
The Dutch shot-stopper has been in fine form as of late, consistently performing well and making a number of fine saves to keep the scores down.

In particularly Brighton brought him into action regularly during the match at the Liberty Stadium which ended in a 0-0 draw. He made a number of saves in the first half to keep the scores level at half time.

He also did well away at in-form Leeds United. He made one superb save to deny a header on goal.

Vital Swansea members on our forum have wondered where we'd be in the League if Willy Gueret was still here as De Vries has saved our skin on a number of ocassions.

Angel Rangel came close to taking the 'award' for a second consecutive month as he came second with 27% of the vote.

The Spanish full back is currently winning our forum vote which asks who's been our best signing this Summer.

He's been excellent and consistent since the pre-season friendlies began. It was a hard feat taking over Tate's right back place but the former United defender will struggle to get it back when he returns from injury.

Captain Garry Monk came third with 10%. The centre back has recovered superbly from a serious knee injury which kept him out of action for nearly a year. He's surprised us all by how well he's playing so early after his return.

Other players making up the numbers were Ferrie Bodde 4%, other 3% and Robinson, Scotland and Britton all with 1%.

Our new poll wants to know who you think has been our best signing this Summer.

You can vote now on the right hand side.

Don't really agree with it but he has been in ***** hot form. it was inbetween Anderson and Monk for me.

i voted for monk but de vries has also done well and has kept us in games and has done well considering he hasnt got the best defence in front of him.

Our back four have had the occasional slip-up. Thanks to Dorus De Vries for being in good form.

I think Rangel should have won it but De Vries has played very well

im not sure to be honest...if your looking for form, its out of de vries, anderson, and rangel. but if you are looking for sheer quality its got to be bodde. he is simply quality, and so clever in his play
