Martinez Wants To Sign Anderson
According to the Evening Post, Roberto Martinez is looking to sign Paul Anderson permanently.
The £1.5million rated Liverpool winger arrived on a season-long loan in the Summer. Despite finding it difficult to get a run in the side, he has started 7 games in all competitions, scoring 6 goals.
The youngster has shown a tremendous amount of pace and has netted in his last 3 games, including getting our second goal in last night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Wycombe.
Martinez may well find it difficult to sign him on a permanent basis, especially if he's still firmly in Rafa Benitez's plans for the future.
Hull City will be hoping the move doesn't go ahead as they could entitled to up to £1.5m if Anderson plays for Liverpool's first team.
He joined the Reds from Hull City with a deal that pays the Tigers £50,000 per game for 30 games.
Roberto Martinez told the Evening Post:
|''It's quite clear that someone like Paul Anderson wouuld be a huge asset for us,''|
We don't know the situation. What we want is for Paul to keep scoring goals, keep enjoying football and keep progressing.
''If you'd seen him on the day he joined us and you saw him now, you'd know he is a more mature player already.
''He has been a joy to work with and at the moment he is a joy to watch.
''His pace is outstanding and he seems to enjoy playing at home especially. He gets a lift out there.
But saying all that, I still think h can improve. I still don't think we've seeb the best of him.''
