Martinez Wants To Sign Anderson

According to the Evening Post, Roberto Martinez is looking to sign Paul Anderson permanently.

The £1.5million rated Liverpool winger arrived on a season-long loan in the Summer. Despite finding it difficult to get a run in the side, he has started 7 games in all competitions, scoring 6 goals.

The youngster has shown a tremendous amount of pace and has netted in his last 3 games, including getting our second goal in last night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win against Wycombe.

Martinez may well find it difficult to sign him on a permanent basis, especially if he's still firmly in Rafa Benitez's plans for the future.

Hull City will be hoping the move doesn't go ahead as they could entitled to up to £1.5m if Anderson plays for Liverpool's first team.

He joined the Reds from Hull City with a deal that pays the Tigers £50,000 per game for 30 games.

Roberto Martinez told the Evening Post:

''It's quite clear that someone like Paul Anderson wouuld be a huge asset for us,''

We don't know the situation. What we want is for Paul to keep scoring goals, keep enjoying football and keep progressing.

''If you'd seen him on the day he joined us and you saw him now, you'd know he is a more mature player already.

''He has been a joy to work with and at the moment he is a joy to watch.

''His pace is outstanding and he seems to enjoy playing at home especially. He gets a lift out there.

But saying all that, I still think h can improve. I still don't think we've seeb the best of him.''

I though Anderson had scored six goals. We may have a chance if Anderson gets plenty of first team football here and we go up this season. Then he would have the option of playing more often in the Second tier of football or playing in the reserves with the odd game here and there in the top flight. If Anderson enjoys himself enough with us then his views may make Benetiz let him go. Thats how he ended up al Liverpool because Hull didn't want to let him go!

Don't know if we'll get him, if we do he would be a fantastic signing, he's already quality and looks a better player every time I see him

I think there's been plenty of people coming down here and becoming attached to the club, hopefully Anderson will be another of these. Has shown us tremendous effort and quality since he's been here, will be a success wherever he ends up, hopefully with us! Paul Anderson's a Jack!!

yeah 6 goals, thanks jh i counted it up wrong! he'd be a great signing to have but i don't want us spending too much on one player.

I agree with you Kev but if we were able to get him for a reasonable price then we shoud defo snap him up! Would be a great aquisition and continue to prvovide that much needed competition on the wings.

If Liverpool were to part with him, then they would want a 7 figure sum for him, so you can start from at least £1M. If we were to sign him, then we have to be playing in the Championship.
