De Vries: 'Bergara Is A Class Act'
Swansea City's No 1 goalkeeper Dorus De Vries says the new goalkeeping coach, Inaka Bergara can make him a better player.
Former coach Tony Pennock left the club earlier in the season to concentrate on the manager's job at Port Talbot Town.
Martinez brought in the experienced Bergara who has played at the highest level in Spain with Real Sociadad.
And already he has impressed De Vries and in an interview with the matchday programme, the Dutch 'keeper said:
|'Inaki is a class act and I'm convinced he can make me a better goalkeeper and take me on to a new level.|
'I've been very impressed by him. He's experienced and you can see that in every aspect of his coaching. He's bringing a new method, a different method, to what I've been used to. He also brings a lot of passion to the training ground, which is a good thing.
'I've been used to the Dutch methods, which is different to the British one I experienced last season. Now I'm getting introduced to the Spanish way. Combine all that together and I feel it's making me a better all-round goalkeeper.''
De Vries produced an excellent performance on Saturday, making a number of saves to keep the scores level at half time as Swans drew 0-0 at home to Brighton.
