Duffy Sidelined For Three Games

Swansea City have suffered another injury setback as Darryl Duffy will be sidelined for the next three games with a groin strain.

The Scot sustained the injury in the 2-0 loss against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday and was immediately substituted by Roberto Martinez.

Duffy has started the recovery and recuperation process and physio Richie Evans was confident of Duffy's swift return to action.

He made a statement on the Official Site and Said:

''Darryl stretched for a ball at the start of the second-half against Leeds and the ball hit him on the leg, pulling his groin.''

It's not too serious, but it's likely to rule him out for a couple of games.

He's already started his rehabilitation process and we are hoping to get him back for the JPT tie against Wycombe on Tuesday, October 9.''

Duffy will miss the League One clash vs Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. The former Rangers trainee has also been ruled out of two vital away games against Swindon Town and surprise league one front runners Leyton Orient.

Martinez has more than adequate replacements in new loanee signing Warren Feeney and much criticised Spanish striker Guillem Bauza Mayol.

The Northern Ireland international is expected to start over Bauza as Jason Scotland's strike partner.

Swansea's injury concerns have been given a huge boost after long term injury ridden Owain Tudur Jones managed to secure 45 minutes against Cardiff City in a friendly.

Leon Britton and Andy Robinson are still sidelined with hamstring injurys whilst Alan Tate is ruled out due to a fracture in his knee cap.

Swansea's match against Brighton will Kick Off at 1.30pm on Saturday.

Who would you like to see replace Darryl Duffy for the next few games?

its dissapointing but maybe he needs a bit of a break after a slow start to his season. i hope feeney does well and that might get duffy playing better when he returns.
