'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'We Aim To Finish Above Leeds'

Roberto Martinez says his challenge this season is to finish above Leeds, after his side were defeated 2-0 at Elland Road on Saturday.

You'd think that would happen anyway with Leeds' 15-point deduction but the Swans find themselves just 4 points ahead of the Whites.

Their strike partnership of Beckford (6) and Kandol (5) have scored 11 goals between them this season which has helped Wise's men go on a winning run of 7 games.

Martinez is unsure though whether they can keep it going and said:

'I'm not sure Leeds's front two can keep going as they are - everything they touch goes right at the moment. If you look at (Jermaine) Beckford's goal on Saturday, his first touch was as bad as you will get in the box but he reacted well.

'It's a long competition and I don't think they can carry on like that for 10 months, but our challenge now is to finish above Leeds.'

He also commented on their style of football and added:

'Leeds are quite happy not to play their way out of the division,'

'They are happy to scrap for every result and the fans don't mind that because they feel they have been harshly treated by the Football League.

'There's nothing wrong with that, but I think any other big clubs with big expectations would find it hard to play that way.'
