'We Can Be As Good As Leeds'

'We Can Be As Good As Leeds'

Dennis Lawrence thinks we can be as good, if not better than Leeds after Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Elland Road.

by GThomas
"what do you expect him to say when he's asked certain questions?"
Despite being outplayed for most of the game and struggling to create many chances during the 90 minutes, the centre back thinks we could have been better than them on the day.

He said:

'Obviously it was always going to be a difficult game coming to Leeds.

'But we are a bit disappointed because we felt we could have done a bit better, especially with the goals we conceded.

'They were a big, powerful team and they played well against us.

'But it's disappointing because I think we could have matched them and we could even have been better than them. We have to be able to come to places like this and get results.

'They are a powerful striking force for defenders to deal with but hopefully next time we will do better against them when they come to Swansea.

'We have got to look at the week ahead and get a good result that's in our favour next time round.

Personally, I think we're still a long way off matching Leeds overall quality and consistency. We've looked far from convincing lately and are conceding far too many sloppy goals.

Without improvements at the back and better finishing up front, we're looking at the play-offs at best this season in my opinion.

i agree with dennis lawrence people think we cant be a good team i think we are right up there with leeds united because leeds ain't in league one for no reason. if they lose 3-4 key players i can see them dip in form and slip up to a few teams and they have got to come to swansea which will be there hardest away game

i cant agree with him. we are nowhere near as capable as going on a run like that. i don't think we look like convincing winners in a game, we have to comeback from going behind too often and our defence is poor. we need to be a lot more consistent if we're to get into the top 6 even. good strong teams don't concede goals the way we do sometimes.
