'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ward's Pre-Match Views

Cheltenham Town boss John Ward shares his views ahead of tonight's match at Whaddon Road.

The Robins go into the game on the back of a 3-2 away win at Huddersfield which Ward says will give his side that extra boost of confidence.

He said:

'The result gave everyone a lift and it's great to go straight into another game so soon,''

'If we can win it will take us further up the league but, then again, that will happen to Swansea if they win. If Swansea go into the top seven or eight people will say it's where they should be but if we do it people will be surprised. But we have that chance and it's up to my players to give it a good go.

'Swansea is a big game for us and there will be a great atmosphere. We've had some terrific games at home over the last three or four years and a couple of good ones this season already, so I'm expecting another one. If we can win it the league table will look nice on Wednesday.

'We've seen Swansea a number of times and we've got good information which we've tried to pass on to the team.

'Swansea are a good side and although Lee Trundle has left them, I get the feeling we'll see a similar situation to that at Arsenal when Thierry Henry left. Other players step forward to take on the responsibility and it becomes more of a collective effort so we are expecting a very difficult game.''

It'll be a difficult game for both sides as both teams have had the same start to the season with 2 wins, 2 defeats and 1 draw.

I'll be happy if we get 2 points in the next 2 away games. We are definitely capable of a win tonight but it'll be even tougher at Leeds next Saturday, who have won all 6 games so far this season!

It's going to be a close game but I think you will have to much class for them in the end.
