Injury Concerns For Joe Allen

Injury Concerns For Joe Allen

Martinez says it looks as if Joe Allen has ligament damage after picking an ankle injury last night.

The 17 year-old was handed his first full league start in midfield alongside Darren Pratley but it was ended early on the hour mark.

Martinez showed his concern and said:

'His injury does concern us,''

'His ankle is swollen and it looks like ligament damage. But it's too early to say at the moment and we'll have him assessed over the next few days.

'It's disappointing for Joe because I thought he handled himself really well out there. His role was to get on the ball and make things tick.

'I thought he did that and, as usual, showed maturity beyond his 17 years.''

Does anyone have any news on how long Joe will be out? I guess it will be at least 2 or 3 weeks.
