Orlandi Needs Time To Settle In

Roberto Martinez says new signing Andrea Orlandi will need time to settle in at Swansea City.

The left winger who arrived from Spanish side Alaves is set to play his first game today as the Reserves travel to Swindon Town this afternoon.

Orlandi is likely to be amongst a few other senior players including David Knight, Kevin Amankwaah, Matty Collins, Shaun MacDonald and Guillem Bauza.

Roberto Martinez says that he'll need to adjust to the British game:

'Andrea spent pre-season with Alaves, but he didn't play many games and he's had a couple of weeks where he has done very little,'

'We need to give him time to get his conditioning right and to learn about the rhythm of British football.

'He needs to get that into his system and it would be a mistake to rush him.

'It will take a while, but the quality and talent he has in his left foot means he could adapt to any style of football.'

Andrea Orlandi is a versatile player and can play on the left side of any position, defence, midfield an attack.

His preferred position is on the left wing where he has lots of pace and great crossing ability.

It sounds like another great capture from Martinez has Orlandi had a spell playing for the Barcelona B side on loan.

Good player by the sounds of it. Give him a few weeks and im sure we'll see him playing. Martinez seems to want to give every body a chance so i'm looking foreward to seeing what Orlandi has to offer.

He looks like he could be a great addition, will have to wait and see though.
