Darren Is A Target No Moore

Swansea City will have to look elsewhere to signing a centre back on loan as they look to have failed in their attempts to sign Derby's Darren Moore.

The experienced defender has been a target for the Swans all Summer but a move always looked unlikely. Moore has featured in all 5 games in the Premiership for Derby, including 3 starts for the Rams.

Roberto Martinez has been ambitious with some of his targets but realistically Darren Moore was never going to join us. He's on a high wage and is certainly in Barry Davies' plans this season in the top flight and I very much doubt Moore would consider dropping down two divisions.

The only rumoured player to be joining us is Stoke City's Clint Hill. So far this season Hill has started 2 of Stoke's 4 Championship games this season.

The 6ft centre back has also played for Oldham and Tranmere. It's unknown yet whether there is any truth in this rumour, plus no other players have so far been linked with a loan move to the Swans.

Coincidentally Vital Stoke sponsor Clint Hill's kit for the 2007/08 season.

As ever Vital Swansea will bring the news as soon as possible.
