Swansea Determined To Sign Defender

Swansea Determined To Sign Defender

Swansea City are determined to sign a centre back once the loan window opens on Saturday.

The news that all Swans fans to hear is that Martinez's priority now seems to lie with sorting out our defence, at last!

We've looked weak at the back ever since the season first started and we need a solid, experienced defender who can take control.

Martinez was unable to bring someone in permanently during the transfer window which closed last week.

Darren Moore, a long-term target for the Swans is still being pursued by Martinez. The Derby defender has visited Swansea twice for talks but his wage demands are proving to be a stumbling block still.

The Swansea boss has other targets in mind to bring to the Liberty Stadium on loan...

Martinez also failed to bring in Dunfermline's Sol Bamba when he had three bids rejected for the centre back.

Despite having no luck with Sol Bamba and Darren Moore so far, Martinez is believed to have a number of other targets that he is pursuing.

One of the reasons why he might have postponed Friday's game is that he wanted to strengthen his back four before we play again.

This is vital that we bring in a solid centre back. Our defence is so dodgy at the moment!
