Why The Decision To Postpone!?!

I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind the club's decision today to postpone Friday's away game at Cheltenham.

We had permission to do so because 3 of our players are on international duty. Joe Allen and Shaun MacDonald will be with the Wales under-21s squad to face France and new loan signing Warren Feeney has been called up by Northern Ireland.

"thats ridiculous. none of those players would start or even make the bench"
I could understand the decision if these were important first team players but they're not, and I'm sure none of them would have been in the first team on Friday night.

They may have made the bench but not all of them. Players like Craney, Butler, O'Leary, Amankwaah, Orlandi and Knight are available to Martinez to occupy the bench at Whaddon Road.

I'd imagine the postponement has angered a lot of Swansea City fans who had planned on making the trip. Some may have taken days off and organised travel that night whilst others may not be able to make the rescheduled game on Tuesday 18th September.

Yes fans can gain refunds on the tickets but they won't be able to if they've decided to get the train to Cheltenham or if they've organised a day off, that's a lot of money lost.

Back to footballing reasons behind the decision that baffles me. We have two games this week (well we did have), one in the Paint Pot Trophy and one in the League. This would have enabled us to name two different sides so our first team gets maximum rest before the important league game on the Friday.

However, the game will now be played on Tuesday 18th. four days before a tough trip to Leeds, 3 days after a home league game against Carlisle. So instead of a cup game followed by a league game in one week, its two tough away league games in the space of only 4 days.

As you can imagine I'm looking forward to hearing Martinez's reasons behind the decision to move the fixture as it doesn't make much sense to me!

Are you dissapointed and annoyed at the decision to postpone the game?
