Akinfenwa Gets Treated At Yeovil

Former Swansea City striker Adebayo Akinfenwa is receiving treatment by Yeovil physio Jim Joyce.

The forward declined a new contract offer from Swansea in the Summer before a move to Swindon Town fell through, due to him failing a second medical.

Joyce revealed that he is still 6 weeks away from starting any training:

'He is around six weeks away from joining in with any proper training sessions,'

'He is due to travel to Lilleshall for further treatment and rehabilitation.'

Along with the other out of contract Swansea players in the Summer, Akinfenwa was offered a much lower deal than he was previously on, and he quickly moved on along with Izzy Iriekpen - another player who moaned at the contract situation.

It may be well be a decision he regrets - turning down the new deal, as he's struggling to find a new club after breaking his leg earlier in the season.

That injury resulted in him failing to finalise a move to Swindon Town.
