Fernandez Returns to Barcelona

Fernandez Returns to Barcelona

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez has revealed to Real Radio that left back Josue Fernandez has returned to Barcelona.

The Barcelona Reserve team defender had played in the reserves 3-2 loss against Bristol City last night in the Pontin's Holidays Combinations League.

Fernandez performance against Bristol City had been criticised with his tackling being earmarked as one of the young Spaniards key flaws.

Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez
said:

'Josue is more of a long-term target.''

'He is only 20 and it is important he gets a taste of British football.

'Because of the relationship we've got with Barcelona, our aim will be to keep monitoring his progress.''

'He's got a fantastic left foot, and is someone who can give you that distribution on the left hand side.

He gets forward and can give you that final pass in the last third. He is physical and able to get up and down the left side, he needs to get stronger and improve defensively.'

Where do you think we need to strengthen in the squad?
