Tony Pennock Leaves Swansea City

Goalkeeping coach Tony Pennock has left Swansea City after he was unable to meet Martinez's request at taking the job full time.

The Swansea boss wants the position to be full-time but with Pennock's job as manager of Port Talbot Town plus football development officer for Swansea Council, he was unable to meet their demands.

Tony Pennock said he was dissapointed to leave and told the Evening Post:

'It's my decision to step away because unfortunately we just couldn't find a way for me to carry on doing the job which suited both parties,'

'I've had three fantastic years with Swansea and I wish Roberto and the rest of the staff all the best.

'I'm sad to be leaving and I hope whoever comes in does a good job with Dorus de Vries and whoever else Roberto signs.'

Chairman Huw Jenkins now explains that they'll be looking for the right person to take the job, he said:

'Tony has become unavailable to us because of his workload,'

'Roberto is now looking into other areas to find a suitable replacement, because we certainly need a goalkeeping coach.

'We need one for the first team, obviously, but we also need someone to work with the goalkeepers in our youth structure.

'What we have to do now is make sure we get the right person.'
