Allen Scores For Wales U-21s

17 year-old Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen scored tonight's winning goal for the Wales U21 side as they beat Sweden 4-3.

The Welsh were 3-2 down at the break as Ola Toivonen scored a hatrick while Cotteril and Edwards netted for Flynn's side.

Sam Vokes equalised for Wales on 58 minutes before Allen got the winner 3 minutes later.

Along with Joe Allen, Swansea City's Shaun MacDonald also started tonight's friendly.

Allen particularly impressed when he started the Carling Cup first round game against Walsall. He produced a man of the match performance and his run through 3 defenders brought the opening goal in that game.

The youngster certainly looks like one for the future and hopefully we'll see him involved more with the first team over the next few seasons.

He has signed his first professional contract with the club which keeps him here until 2010.

sounds like he'll definitely break into our first team soon, maybe next season. he should be used in all the cup games this season for him to gain experience.
