'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fantasy Football Newsletter #2

With the second week now passed, early signs of the talent Vital Fantasy players have in selecting teams is starting to shine through. The top 4 managers have already passed the 100 mark, and there will be no looking back from here on in.

The weekend once again showcased a number of class matches which had the usual mixture of excitement, disappointment and a couple of 'interesting' referee decisions.

A couple of big games were played over the weekend, the first major derby of the season between Manchester City and Manchester United proved to be a great clash. Although United came across as the stronger team on the day, City's defence was impenetrable with young Micah Richards improving his status as a great prospect for England. He helped Sven's lads to their third win, and third clean sheet in three games. United clearly felt the impact of a missing Ronaldo whose head really be hurting him now...

The clash of the titans was on Sunday between Chelsea and Liverpool and nothing separated the two teams, apart from an appalling decision from the referee to give Chelsea a penalty. This allowed Lampard to draw level after Torres scored his first goal for the Reds. Liverpool did look the stronger team and were unlucky not to come away with more than one point.

Spurs recorded their first win of the season in emphatic style as they trounced Derby 4-0. The first three goals were scored in the first 15 minutes, with two goals for Frenchman Malbranque. Darren Bent also managed to net his first goal for Spurs when he headed a simple one home over the goal line.

The league table currently holds some interesting reading with both Manchester City and Wigan enjoying top 4 positions. With one more scoring week available in August the first of the Vital Fantasy Football prizes will be decided after next week. So make sure you are voicing full support for your team and remember that transfers will be available from the 4th of September through to the end of the season.
