With the new season kicking off in just over 24 hrs ; Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez has issued a warning to his Squad .
He has warned the side not to rest on their laurels and that in some games it may not be so easy to play the free flowing brand of football that the Squad have shown in pre season games.
Roberto has also outlined that the players may need to grind out results over the course of the season.
With many sides last season at the Liberty Stadium and Away from home some teams set up very defensively which made it very hard to break them down.
Swansea City Manager Roberto Martinez
Told The Evening Post:
|'There will be some difficult times for every side in what is a very tough division.'|
You can point to teams like Nottingham Forest, who have a great squad, and Millwall, who finished last season on a high and I expect them to do well.'
It's going to be a question of who can play football like we do at home and then go away to places like Oldham and be effective. That's going to be the key to finishing in the top two - knowing how to play but also how to adapt in different circumstances.'
|''I have always said I want to get Swansea City to the Premiership.'|
And everything we do every day should be geared towards that.'
But I don't think a flying start is that important and I have other aims for the first three or four games.'
Their (the players)attitude and effort has been 10 out of 10, now I can't wait to see them enjoying their football on the pitch.'
When you look back at last season, we picked up 24 points in the last 12 games which is a promotion ratio.
What we needed to do was add to the squad we had then and we have managed that.
