Roberto: The Squad Is Ready

Roberto Martinez was left in no doubt after the 2-0 win against Valencia Based La Liga side Levante UD yesterday; the Squad are ready for the coming gruelling League One campaign.

With the free flowing football on display by Swansea City yesterday the signs of a promotion squad were there for all to see.

The Squad showed a determination and steely resolve to not only keep a clean sheet but played the kind of fluid football that will delight the Liberty Stadium faithful.

With the game being broadcast on Regional Valencia based television Station Radioteleviso Valenciana the result would not have gone unnoticed.

Roberto Martinez was ecstatic after the win and was quick to praise his squad.

Martinez Told the South Wales Evening Post:

'You don't get any harder questions on the pitch than the ones a La Liga side can ask you.'

I was very pleased with the answers the boys came up with. Levante mixed things round a bit, but they were all first-team players and there's no doubt about their quality.'

We realise that you won't get promoted just by playing pretty football..if you want to kick and run and not take risks, that's not going to get you promoted either.'

The dressing room is ready.'

Roberto has signalled his intent for the season and so have the players who in pre season have gelled together well and even the existing players at the club have stepped up their efforts.

The combination of a Excellent work ethic , Tactical astuteness ,desire to succeed and Squad togetherness could be the winning combination for the club

This does not automatically constitute promotion but if the club do not get ahead of themselves then it could be the season that the club finally secure promotion.

we're a bit short in defence though. could do with another CB. I can't see us getting in a striker, maybe he sees Anderson as a striker if Duffy or Scotland get injuries.

We can sort out the defence in the January transfer window if we have to. We are playing well enough and if we are in the top places of the table in January we may be able to tempt other players to drop down a league or two to play for us as there will be less risk of getting trapped in league one for them! I agree that we are ready for this season though!

the only problem we have in defence is depth. look at the back four we played against levante. if we start the season with that against oldham, i'd be happy. rangel looked good, painter is quality and tate and lawrence would form a very solid centre back partnership in my view

its just getting people to fill in for them when injuries and suspensions start creeping in!

if we do need people to fill in at the back, then we could loan someone, because the deadline for loans is in november i think, so until then we should be alright. if martinez is looking for one player it has to be a defender as the rest of the team is sorted
