Swans To Take Martin On Loan?

Swansea City are lining up the signing of Liverpool Reserve keeper David Martin on loan for the season.

This comes after Willy Gueret left the club to secure a Loan move to MK Dons last week.Gueret has been unsettled after Dorus De Vries joined the club on a free transfer from Dunfermline Atheltic.

It has come as no surprise that Gueret has decided to seek first team action elsewhere after excellent displays from Dorus De Vries in pre season.

David Martin ironically was signed from MK Dons to Liverpool in 2006 and has had a spell as a school boy at Spurs as a defender.

Martinez Told the South Wales Evening Post:

'Willy has another year on his contract and we want two keepers who can be a No. 1 because that is healthy competition.'

But maybe we will not be able to do that with Willy. He has had a fantastic three years at this club and sometimes you have to listen to players. If he wants to go somewhere else, we will have to listen.'

Players look around the dressing room and you can get an idea about what's going to happen in the season ahead.

At the moment we are waiting for news from Willy. He wanted to have a look at MK Dons, but he is still a Swansea player at the moment and we'll have to see where everybody stands.'

Gueret's departure from the Liberty Stadium will freshen things up and bring new talent into the club.

Roberto again has used his connections to bring in David Martin from Liverpool in on loan and has economised on what could have been an expesive buy.

The club had turned down a bid from The Dons last season for Gueret's services which was thought to be around £100,000. If such a deal was to be offered before the season kicks off we have to take it.

looks like our link with Liverpool is really going to be useful, with the players we are loaning. now all they got to do is let us have carragher, gerrard and torres.

H ewouldn't get first team football here this season and shouldn't have had it last season! Will be glad to see him go specially if we get a 6 figure fee for him!

The only time I ever saw Willy show that he knew what it meant to be a Swan, he was waving and larking with the fans, when away at P'boro in JPT trophy-and duly let a goal in while doing so.How unfortunate.he was a good goalie for us really, but De Vries is infintely more professional.
