Scotland Ready To Fire for the Swans

Jason Scotland is ready to step up to the plate for Swansea City in the coming season and has signalled his intent on scoring goals for the club.

The World Cup star has had a torrid start to his Swansea city career to date with a calf injury that has set him back in fitness and playing terms.

The Trinidad and Tobago international did not feature in the friendlies vs Neath , Llanelli and Port Talbot. The former St Johnston striker has opened his account with a goal against Dutch part time outfit Alphense Boys.

Scotland Told The Western Mail:

''He (Trundle) has scored at least 20 goals a season for the last four years and for any striker to come in and do that is hard. People say I have got tricks and I'm a goalscorer, so I suppose we're similar in a way.

But I don't want to say I have come here to fill Trunds's boots.

I'll just say that hopefully I'm going to be able to entertain the fans at the Liberty. As for a goal target, I think I'll wait and see how the first few games go before setting myself one.'

Morvant born Scotland has a good goalscoring record throughout his career. His time at McDiarmid Park saw him score 41 goals in 77 apperances .

Scotland must create an understanding with both Darryl Duffy and Mayol quickly and with his power and strength can combine well with the pace of Duffy.

Regardless of Trundle's loss Swansea City still have a strike force to be reckoned with.

We need all of our strikers to be playing well this season for us to have a chance of going up. We can't rely on 1 player!

if scotland brings his goals from with him from st.johnstone and duffy carries on where he left off, we should have a very good chance of getting in the top two at the end of season
