The VF Blackpool Tournament

The VF Blackpool Tournament

After travelling a good 8 hours to reach our destination, team 'Vital Swansea` had arrived in Blackpool to participate in what would be the first edition of an annual tournament.

Turning up an hour early to the venue by mistake wasn`t the greatest of starts to the day but the team were set on only one thing, victory! (win one match)

This wasn`t a very realistic target as we managed to lose all of our games but in fairness, we were a man down the whole tournament due to not having enough players to field a full team. Here is how we got off:

Group B

Swansea 1 - 5 Newcastle (Eventual Winners)

Swansea 0 - 4 Blackpool Supporters Association (Wooden Spoon Winners)

Swansea 2 - 4 Club Sanuk (Eventual Runners-Up)

Wooden Spoon Trophy

Swansea 3 - 6 Glasgow Rangers (Wooden Spoon Runners-Up)

The award for worst overall team performance went to our buddies up at Vital Blackpool which I might add actually had a team on the day so there`s one positive to take from the day itself.

Vital Swansea`s MVP had to go to Phillip who played in between the sticks and kept us in the game a lot of the time with some outstanding saves.

On a final note I`d like to thank Steve (T5Swan), Phillip and a good few of my mates who made an effort and put on the Swansea City shirt for Vital Swansea. Cheers!

Long way to go for a good hammering. I hope you at least got some candy floss and a donkey ride?
