Levante Friendly Will Raise Profile

Levante Friendly Will Raise Profile

Fresh from their Pre Season tour of The Netherlands the Squad will have no time to rest with a High Profile friendly this Sunday vs La Liga side Levante UD.

The Spanish side boast the likes of Riga Mustapha and former Roma and ex Azzurri International Damiano Tommasi. The Levante side have strengthened for next seasons La Liga campaign with the signing of experienced Serbian Keeper Vladan Kujović.

Roberto Martinez has also hinted that another La Liga side next pre season may grace the turf of the Liberty Stadium.

Roberto Martinez Told The South Wales Evening Post:

' 'Sunday is a fantastic opportunity for us to sell ourselves in Spain and in a huge league like La Liga,'

There are already people talking about Swansea City out there and that's a big thing as far as selling our club goes. It's something we want to continue and I hope our fans come out to show what a big club we are.

When the fixtures came out and we were away on the opening day of the season, we really wanted to organise a home friendly because we felt they deserved a chance to see the players before we got into the real business.

We wanted a big opponent so it would be a big day and I think we've managed that.'

Sunday's Game vs Levante will be the toughest test yet of Martinez's new look squad.

The attendance at the game will be lower than previous friendlies due to the North and South stands being closed.

If Swansea can net a goal and push Levante close then that will be a huge result for the club.
