Monk Hands Swansea A Boost

Monk Hands Swansea A Boost

Garry Monk has handed Martinez a timely boost with the news that he will only be sidelined for 2 weeks not the initial month as initially thought.

Monk sustained a ankle injury during the 2-1 defeat against Stormvogels Telstar. Monk had only just come back from a long term injury that saw him miss most of last season with a leg injury.

Monk Told The Western Mail:

'"It doesn`t seem to be as bad as we first thought and I`m hopeful of coming back a lot quicker than a month.'

I`m looking at around a fortnight out, so although I will miss the first league game at Oldham, I`m hopeful of being back in training not long after."

I was worried when I first sustained the injury but it seems to have settled down in the past few days.

I`ve had my fair share of injuries and I thought I was in credit.'

This is certainly a boost ahead of the new season and would have caused Martinez a few headaches over defensive pairings.

The Club certainly need to be looking to sign a CB for the coming campaign as we are light in that position .
