Britton Upbeat For Next Season

Swansea City midfeilder Leon Britton has been in upbeat mood despite the loss of talisman striker Lee Trundle.

The former West Ham United trainee has agreed a new 3 year deal with the club in recent days.

Britton Told The Evening Post:

''Trunds was a brilliant player for Swansea from the day he joined.''

'On the pitch, around the changing room and representing the club he was superb and it's disappointing to lose him.'

'We can't dwell on it because we'll end up losing games.''

I believe we'll keep on progressing, too. We've had a couple of years in League One where we've been steady, but we're looking to really push on in the next two or three seasons and, with the manager and staff we have, I think we can do that.

Britton has been by far the most consistent player for the club in recent seasons.

The news that he will be with the club for a further 3 seasons is very positive indeed.

He will be one of the key players for the coming season.
